Joanna Strand & friends
Following a sell out run of their show 'Transatlantic' at The Jermyn Street Theatre and The Forge this spring, Joanna Strand and friends launched their album 'Fly Transatlantic' on 11 September at The Forge.
Transatlantic’ is a jazz -cabaret show in two acts presenting the music of composers that have crossed the Atlantic Ocean. The optimism and longing of the traveller who finds love, loneliness and reflections of home...
With songs ranging from the 30s to the present day, from Jerome Kern to Paul Simon (who both found love in England), Sting, Ricky Ian Gordon, Costello and Bacharach are amongst other great musicians who have ventured ‘Transatlantic’.
